Safety Gear Product Review - Adventure Lights

As a renowned gear head, I am on the constant look out for quality products that fit into my pack when I am hunting.  Finding quality products that are light, will last and are made well is not always easy.  Adventure Lights lives up to that bill and these lights have a place in my pack.

Bill from Adventure Lights sent me out one Lazer Stik and a Guardian Extreme Hunting Beacon and both of these will be in my pack for the next several years.  Why because they work!

The Guardian Extreme Hunting Beacons

The Guardian can be used as a full time light source on hat or belt clip for hands free use.  It also works as a safety beacon that allows you as a hunter to be seen from over a mile away.  If you need a marking beacon to assist in game retrieval you can set this up from your shooting position to mark a particular angle or leave it your animal to assist in recovery after you have gone back to retrieve your ATV or Pack Frame from Camp.

As well you can get several of these to place on other hunters or children you are hunting with to assist with keeping everyone safe while returning from your stands.  With every hunter having a different color on to make it easy to know who is heading out of the field and who is still in the stand or missing upon return.

The best feature of this light though is that with a quick turnover of the batteries the beacon will switch from steady on to flashing the S.O.S. Code allowing people up to one mile away to know that you are hurt.  This little unit is waterproof and incredibly handy.  I can see tons of uses for these units for hunters of all walks of life.  I would put them on my dogs collars to keep them safe and especially use them on tracking dogs and hounds so you can see which of your hounds is on the mountain at night.

LAZER STIK

The Lazer Stik can be seen from over 1/2 Mile away and is a great replacement for the basic chemical lights that we have all used in the past and carried in our packs.  I have always had 2 or 3 in my pack at any time in the mountains and every year have had to replace the sticks due to breakage in the pack or fear of the potency of my chemical sticks not working.

These Lazer Stik lights are visible from a 1/2 mile away and can be switched just like the Guardian from constant on to flashing the S.O.S. Pattern as well.  They will stay lit for 20 hours steady on and 75 hours flashing on a set of 3 A76 or LR44 Batteries.  These are both waterproof and will work in extreme cold temperatures.  These things are perfect for camping, hunting, car safety, and would be great for the kids at Halloween and group events.

The product is made very well and I took one both of the lights and threw them into the ground in my driveway the other night to see if I could break them and both are in perfect condition.  The size and the weight is minimal and these have a strong place in my pack.

We are hoping to test the VIP Safety Beacon as well in the coming months which has a much stronger beacon and is used as an emergency locater beacon that is visible to over 5km which would work extremely well for lost and stranded hunters who are in wilderness areas.

All of these lights are being used by the military currently and Adventure Lights is just getting into the outdoor market.  I personally endorse this product fully as a real tool that hunters should consider as a part of their packs and their safety arsenal.

Both of these lights are under the price point of $20.00 and for that price all of us can stock up on as many as we need.
