Hunting Tip 151
We hunters no matter how much we would like to, cannot change the weather. Only God has that ability and it seems no matter how hard I pray for a good opening day of turkey season, there’s always bad weather. So, we have to do the best we can with what God gives us. Use the weather to your advantage. Here are some things to think about. First, on a rainy day you the hunter have the advantage. Depending on what type of vegetation you have, the leaves on the ground are much quieter when they are wet. Use this to your advantage. On a windy day, you can make a little extra noise or movement and not get busted. Windy days allow for better stalking and quicker set ups. On quiet clam days, walk the edge of fields and tree lines so that you don’t sound like a herd of elephants running through the woods. These are just a few tips to help you the next time you have the “not so perfect” weather day in the turkey woods.
