The Key To Harvesting That Trophy Whitetail

In order to stay legal while waterfowl hunting, and not shoot waterfowl that aren't legal, you need to practice identifying ducks in the off season.

Hunting Tip 172

I found myself thinking for a moment at 130 a.m. this restless opening Ohio duck opening morning. A great tip let fellow waterfowl euthusiast who may never have heard this before, is using a vegetable oil or canola oil on a q-tip to keep your duck and goose call reeds from sticking in cold fowl weather. A little dab on the paddle and reeds will do just fine. They should be aware that the first few blows and attempts may rise and fall in tone, however as we all do, a few moments practice while patiently driving to the spot or awaiting the first flight will have the call settled back in note perfectly to your sweet spot.
