Love Bros & Lee Ltd
Love Bros & Lee Ltd has been operating on the headwaters of the Finlay River for more than 40 years. We offer some of the best fishing and hunting on 2500 sq. miles of pristine wilderness in British Columbia, Canada.
We are passionate about what we do. At Love Bros. & Lee we invite you to “Treat Yourself to the Best” and come - let us show you the wonders of northwestern British Columbia.
Hunting
Whether you prefer rifle, bow or black powder hunting, we offer it all. We have guided hunters from around the world – they all come as clients and leave as friends. Our pristine wilderness area, in the heart of northwestern BC, is where you will find superb hunting opportunities for many species.
We specialize in combination hunts for Canadian moose, Mountain caribou, mountain goat, black bear, and wolf. Grizzly and Stone sheep are available by special arrangement. We offer the combination hunts between mid August and mid October. During June we take spring grizzly bear hunts; in August the sheep hunt, and we also have summer fishing and wilderness trips in July and August.
We cater to small groups, usually about four or five hunters at one time and Ron guides all the time himself, along with two assistants, thereby offering a very personalized service to our guests. The 2010 season will mark his 41st year outfitting in this same area.
Camps
Love Bros. and Lee have six remote camps located on the banks of beautiful lakes and rivers. From Smithers they are located 165 air miles north and are accessible only by floatplane. Charter floatplane flights to and from camps are 1 - 1.5 hrs long and are included in our rates. We have comfortable, wood-heated cabins for accommodations. You only need to bring your sleeping bag, hunting equipment and personal gear. Our camps have outdoor facilities and a heated shower house.
Although we have six camps located in the area we like to only hunt one or two at a time, and rotate camps from hunt to hunt to ensure there is no pressure on any one portion of the area. There is boat hunting on big lakes and / or backpack hunting, hiking mountainous terrain, but returning to a main camp each night for excellent meals and a warm cabin. We serve large home-cooked meals featuring hotcakes, bacon, eggs, homemade bread, fresh vegetables fruits, tender roasts with gravy and sinful desserts.
We will book your hotel rooms in Smithers for the night prior to the start of your trip and the night of the final day. We will also obtain your licenses and tags in advance and have them waiting in camp for you.
We are proud members of Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia, FNAWS, SCI, NAHC, GSCO.
Fishing
We are passionate about fly fishing and your success. We are based on famous fly fishing streams and lakes that offer the ultimate in wild rainbow angling. We cater both to experienced anglers that want to know the best spots and new anglers that need instruction. Come alone, with a buddy, or bring the whole family!
We offer 7 day trips to one of our remote wilderness camps.
We prefer to have 4 people at a time so, if you are one party, you may call the camp your own to decide meal times and other activities such as hiking and sightseeing.
For shore lunch imagine the tantalizing aroma of fresh trout baking in the coals, the taste of firm flesh delicately flavored with lemon, butter and dill, then homemade buns, sweet goodies and fruit to top it all off. Or, if it's your pleasure come back to camp for hot soup and an afternoon nap.
The setting is pristine wilderness beside a lake or along a river full of wild rainbow. These great fighters, averaging about a pound each in the river and up to 3-4 lbs from the lake, are offered on a catch and release basis, except what you can eat for lunch. It's common to see moose feeding in the water or browsing the camp willow patch, and observe a diversity of birds ranging from mergansers to yellow warblers. The resident ospreys often fly over camp carrying their own catch of the day.
Picture crystalline waters and the flash of pink and silver as the rainbow takes your fly in a swirl of tail and fins. This is flyfishing at its best and you may try an array of flies including muddler minnows, adams, wolffs, wooley worms, nymphs, hornbergs and more.
You will be fully guided. At the river camp we can run about 8 miles of the stream by boat, so you will have the chance to fish all types of water from fast ripples to deep quiet pools. At the lake camp you will have the opportunity to fish the streams and draining the lake as well
