Hunt for Trophy Whitetail, Black Bear and Water Fowl with Big Game Outfitters in Manitoba, Canada.
Big Game Outfitters strives to provide exceptional service, a quality hunt, and memories to last a lifetime.
WHITETAIL
Whitetail hunters have the option of archery, muzzleloader, or rifle hunts. The hunting seasons begin August 25 with Archery, and concludes with Rifle Season at the end of November. This gives the hunter the hunter a great deal of flexibility in choice of dates. With two large hunting zones and a generously long season, clients have plenty of options. Clients have the choice of either a rustic tent camp adventure all the way to a clean modern hotel with swimming pool and hot tubs for family members who choose to come along. Shopping, entertainment, and fine dining can be enjoyed by the rest of the family.
Hunters pursuing the majestic whitetail with Big Game Outfitters will not be seeing ordinary deer. Far from it. Biologists recognize 30 distinct sub-species of North American whitetails. The "Dakota" subspecies is the farthest north of any subspecies, ranging into northern Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The bucks can range from 200- 300 pounds with the does weighing 20% - 30% less. A combination of good genetics and excellent nutrition has produced this unique subspecies. In fertile bottomland mixed wood forests, which are found in the hunting area, deer have been shown to weigh an average of 51 pounds more at 2.5 years of age. The large robust size of these healthy whitetails allows exceptional antler growth. A quick check of Record Books of Whitetail Deer in Canada will prove this . Northern deer stand out in antler size and configuration, with massive main beams and long thick tines. Although found in heavy forest, the one advantage hunters have is the "moon of madness" during the rut, when the bucks pursue does on heavily used trails. The hunter's skill will be put to the test as always, but success comes to those who are patient and observant, catching a glimpse of the massive buck as he sniffs out does along the trail. As an added bonus in Manitoba, hunters are allowed to harvest a timberwolf on the big game tag with no extra charge.
Whether hunting with bow, muzzleloader, or rifle, the hunter's keen senses and quick reflexes will help to bag that trophy of a lifetime. Hunting in untouched whitetail habitat is a rare treat, especially when the herd has not been exposed to poachers, or driven into nocturnal mode because of roads and human settlements. This is unique country, full of a unique subspecies of deer - the exact requirements of a hunt-of-a-lifetime.
Bear hunts are in the Eastern region of Manitoba. Our area consists of 500 square miles that is hunted exclusively by us.
The hunter will have an excellent opportunity at a Boone and Crockett or Pope and Young bear.
Hunting pressure from residents is practically non-existent and due to our low number of tags and the large area that we hunt, quality bears are in abundance here in Manitoba.
* Fishing packages in the spring and combo hunts for waterfowl and whitetail in the fall are also available.
