SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Don Brown was recently hired as Regional Director for the Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) in northern California and Oregon. Brown has many years of experience as a guide and outfitter in Argentina and the Dakota’s. His background and various outdoor-related associations are a good match for the Foundation.

An open letter to outfitters about our advertising sales.

Outfitters,

I got to see a very interesting email today from an outfitter in the south( I wont share it here to protect his privacy).  This outfitter was frustrated by the poor quality of outdoor websites and publication companies ripping off outfitters in the marketplace.  He has been ripped off way to many times. I have to agree with this outfitter in regards to the growth of poor quality websites  and poor quality publications in the marketplace.  While this is true that there are some poor quality sites like anything else, bad sites are also offset by some really great websites in the market place.

Mule Deer Foundation to Celebrate 20 Years, 1988-2008

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) will hold its
20th Anniversary Banquet and Auction on Thursday, February 7, 2008.
The event will take place in conjunction with the Western Hunting and
Conservation Expo (WHCE) at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, Utah.

In 1988, MDF was founded by wildlife filmmaker and hunter Emmett
Burroughs in Redding, Calif. Since that time, the Foundation has
raised millions of dollars through local chapter banquets and its
national convention, and today MDF is the leader in conservation of
mule deer, black-tailed deer and their habitats.

The Virginia Outdoor Sportsman Show

The Virginia Outdoor Sportsman Show has been going strong for 24 years in Richmond, Virginia and for the last 7 years I have been proud to be attending this show and getting to see the old friends and meet new ones each and every year.

This show was created by Hugh Crittenden and is one of the best run local shows I attend each and every year.  In any given year I attend on average 12 different outdoor shows and stating that this is one of the best that I attend is a pretty high honor.

The show is at the Showplace at 3000 Mechanicsville Turnpike in Richmond, Virginia and this year they will have Stan Potts and Greg Miller doing seminars and I will be front and center for both of those speakers hoping to learn more to prepare for my own whitetail season.

With over 290 booths, a tremendous whitetail deer and turkey contest, free parking and children under 15 getting in for free this is an event for the whole family.

Get out there and get out of the oppressive heat in Virginia and start preparing for the coming season.
