Friday Afternoon, I had the pleasure to attend a couple of great seminar on ballistics and photography. As I was walking the halls I came upon Kenneth W. Royce who was getting ready to jump into a new seminar.  The thing was, I walking behind Kenneth and his book cover was just so amazingly striking that I had to ask about his book.

At that moment, I had just spent the last 2 plus days dreaming of going on Safari and I could not help myself,  I stopped Kenneth and asked him if he could send me a copy of his book to review. He did one better and gave me a copy on the spot.

Packing up on Sunday to catch my flight, I actually had to get a second bag to hold all of the brochures and on the top of the pile was Kenneth's book so I threw it into my carry on bag and got on the plane.  I  grabbed the book out of my bag and for a 3 hour flight and then a second 3 hour flight I could not put it down.  This book is excellent.

Kenneth put a ton of time and a wealth of information together into one great source.   I have never been to Africa and to be honest the thought had been a little daunting to me until now.  After reading this book, I am actually considering a plan to get myself over to Africa and preparing a hunt of a lifetime.  I know now that I am going on this trip in the next several years.  Safari Dreams provides for me the knowledge that I needed to be confident that I could do this trip on my own.

Safari Dreams:  A Practical Guide To Your Hunt In Africa provides real information for someone who is planning this trip in the near future.  It was written for the individual who is contemplating their first safari but contains information that can be a real asset to those who have been to Africa and are planning on going back for the second or third trip.

The section on rifles, ballistics and bullet types was incredible and informational.  I got some real ideas on the type of weapon that I would want to bring with me and I got to understand that bullet selection and bullet type is going to be more important then caliber selection for African game.

This book is a must buy if you think that you are going to be in Africa anytime in the next 5 years. The resources, the checklists, the details, the information provided will make this an absolutely text book as you prepare for your safari.

I know because I have already started to mark my book up with a pen and a highlighter and a few years from now I am sure that this book will actually be with me when I step onto African soil for my first safari sometime in the next several years.  I know that I am going to Africa and this book gives me enough information to make that trip one I am confident will be a success no matter what game I get because I will have enjoyed the journey.
