NSSF On The Air
NEWTOWN, Conn. With more than 120 stations (and counting) committed to broadcasting the show, the National Shooting Sports Foundation today launched its new daily radio program for all gun owners called Insights.
Also available as a podcast on the iTunes Web site, Insights will reach a large audience that will enjoy the shows lineup of stories about the history, excitement and value of hunting and the shooting sports.
Insights, a 90-second program, is sponsored by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and produced by the Walker Agency of Scottdale, Ariz.
"We're thrilled with the high level of interest by station managers in NSSF's Insights radio show," said Dave Miles, NSSF's director of electronic media. It's really a win-win for them, and we're glad they're immediately seeing this. The stations receive high-quality content, and the shooting sports receive additional exposure that we hope will encourage sportsmen, lapsed participants and newcomers to fully enjoy these activities.
The show, which is broadcast Monday through Friday, is being carried by stations in every region of the country and can be listened to at any time by going to the iTunes podcast library or to http://www.nssf.org/insights. Listeners can subscribe to the podcast in iTunes.
On NSSF's Insights host John Quaintance explores the world of hunting and target shooting to bring listeners great tips that will make sportsmen and women even more successful, advice on how to get started, and the latest news and information from NSSF, the trade association of the firearms industry and shooting sports industry.
The Insights show complements NSSF's existing efforts on cable television and in Web-based and traditional media to support NSSF's members and grow the shooting sports.
There's still time for interested stations to pick up the show, which is offered on a barter basis. Station managers can ask for a sample program and learn more about becoming a broadcast affiliate by contacting Mike Walker at mike@walkeragency.com or 602-569-0340.
To develop the largest audience possible for Insights, NSSF encourages its member companies to let their local radio stations know about this free daily radio program and to place a link to the show on their Web sites.
