NSSF Launches Monthly Industry Research Reports
NEWTOWN, Conn. -- The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) has launched two new industry research tools for its members -- the NSSF Survey Tracker and the NSSF Market Indicator.
These new reports will be sent monthly via e-mail to NSSF members and will also be available in the members section of NSSF's Web site, www.nssf.org.
"These new reports are quick reads and provide a snapshot that anyone can use to understand market leaders, hot-selling products and the voice of today's recreational shooter," said Frank Briganti, NSSF manager of industry research and analysis.
The NSSF Survey Tracker is a monthly monitoring service using an online panel of active hunters and target shooters sourced by HunterSurvey.com (produced by Southwick Associates). Each report features a "Market Snapshot" -- a listing of purchases made in the past month and corresponding top-selling brands. In addition, a "Market Leaders" section will highlight the top brands in different categories, while the "Question of the Month" section will provide insight to the opinions and attitudes of today's recreational shooters.
"The best part about the NSSF Survey Tracker is that it's interactive -- meaning NSSF members can request questions and categories they most would like to see in future reports," said Briganti.
The NSSF Market Indicator is a monthly point-of-sale report indicating the top-selling items in six major equipment categories: shooting sports, hunting, archery, paintball/airsoft, optics and cutlery. For each category, the year-to-date performance is measured along with the top-sellers, including brand, item description and average price.
"The NSSF Market Indicator takes the guessing game out of the equation for retailers," Briganti said. "It simply indicates some of the fast-moving items (based on units sold) that they perhaps should offer in their line-up."
These new reports join a long list of NSSF research offerings, including "Industry Intelligence Reports," "2007 Industry Reference Guide," "Customized Market Reports" and more than 15 other research publications that include "Today's Hunter," "Americans and the Shooting Sports," "Lifetime Retail Sales Value" and others.
