A Weekend away from hunting to go surf fishing with my son Tristan in the Outer Banks

Moments introducing kids to the outdoors are truly priceless!

A weekend off for one on one time with my son Tristan.  We took off at 5:00am on Saturday and made it back home by 8pm on Sunday.  We had an absolute blast.  Our first stop was the Wright Brothers Memorial which was our learning moment for the weekend and then we were off to the bait shop and then to the beach.

We had a great couple of casts with a fish in the first 30 minutes, Tristan's first ever fish out of the ocean was a nice 5 lb Red Drum.  We had a great afternoon and Sunday was just as good.

More Pictures from our trip.

I am so jealous. When I was a kid my dad used hot dogs as bait. We never caught anything!

Allright!!!  That's a great pic. Congrats to you and Tristan!

Great fish Tristan -- I'm so proud of you.  Looks like you had a great time with Dad !!!!!

Looks like an awesome time. I love hearing about kids getting in the outdoors! Priceless!

I think that sounds like a pretty great way to spend a weekend.  Tristan looks really happy in that picture.  Nice fish too.
